چکیده
Seven patients with mild to moderate pulmonic stenosis with intact ventricular septum were subjected to cardiac catheterization before and from 4 to 18 months after pulmonary valvulotomy. Despite uniform clinical improvement, remarkably slight changes were observed, following surgery, in right ventricular pressure, pulmonary artery pressure, pulmonary artery flow, and pulmonary valve area, when measured at rest. When present preoperatively, venoarterial shunt was reduced

متن کاملResults of valvulotomy for valvular pulmonary stenosis with intact ventricular septum; analysis of sixty-nine patients.
The analysis deals primarily with follow-up studies of patients who have had a valvulotomy for valvular pulmonic stenosis with an intact ventricular septum. In addition to observations on the subjective improvement, hemograms, and arterial oxygen saturation, the cardiac findings have been analyzed in detail. The changes in the size of the heart have been studied in relation to the growth of the...
متن کاملSevere Pulmonic Stenosis with Intact Ventricular Septum and Right Aortic Arch.
IT HAS BEEN assumed that patients with pulmonic stenosis and a right aortic arch practically always have a ventricular septal defect as well. As a matter of fact, in the differential diagnosis of pulmonic stenosis and right-to-left shunt, the presence of a right aortic arch often was taken as conclusive evidence of a tetralogy of Fallot-type lesion. -3 A review of the literature revealed among ...
متن کاملLong-term (10 to 13 Years) Follow-up Study after Transventricular Pulmonary Valvulotomy for Pulmonary Stenosis with Intact Ventricular Septum.
IN THE LAST 15 years surgical methods for the relief of the pulmonic obstruction in patients with pulmonary stenosis and intact ventricular septum have been successfully developed.1-6 Although the open-heart technic with the use of cardiopulmonary bypass is today the procedure of choice, the classic Brock's transventricular valvulotomy is still preferred for small infants.7-9 The final conclusi...
متن کاملLate Hemodynamic Response to Correction of Isolated Pulmonary Stenosis by Open Operation during Pulmonary Bypass.
SURGICAL treatment of pulmonary stenosis has advanced to the point where a choice of several operative technics is available. This study constitutes a comparative review of the late recatheterization results in the open versus closed method of pulmonary valvuloplasty. Doyen reported an unsuccessful attempt to relieve pulmonary stenosis by transventricular valvulotomy in 1913.1 In 1948, Sellors ...
